The Rye FSC was founded in the spring of 1937

by Edward F. Page and incorporated by the

State of New York on March 1, 1938.

There has been ice at Playland since the fall of 1929. The Rye FSC is a non-profit organization with the purpose of encouraging figure skating. Volunteers maintain and support the Club.

Many national competitors grew up skating at Playland, including Olympic Gold Medalist Dorothy Hamil, a pastand Honorary Member of the Rye FSC. Club members participate in all aspects and levels of skating ranging from beginner to national competitor.

Our club sponsors programs for all the many and varied facets of figure skating, including dance, freestyle, and moves-in-the-field. Members can test levels of skating as well as participate in all USFSA sponsored events.

The club sponsors a seasonal competition, clinics with renowned professionals, test sessions, and holiday events. In the late spring, we honor all who have participated in our programs with a special recognition ceremony and family celebration.
